WHAT LF BUILDS

One crew for the whole job, from the dig to the siding

From the first scoop of dirt to the foundation, frame, roofing, siding and interior needs.

That is how LF Construction & Excavating describes the work, and it is how the jobs run. We are here for you, every step of the way, across the Yakima Valley and the areas around it.

THE WHOLE JOB

Custom homes, dirt to finish

A custom home is every trade below, handed from one to the next without the gaps. One customer put it this way: “From the dirt to roof top, Alex took care of all of it.”

The trades, in the order a house gets built

STAGE: THE DIG

Excavating

“We do everything from digging foundations to digging for septic tanks”

Excavating is where every job of ours starts. Foundations get dug, every septic tank hole gets dug, and Land clean outs get done before anything is built on the ground.

We run our own excavator and skid steer, and a lot of the lots we work are hillside pads above the valley where the cut has to be right the first time.

STAGE: THE FORMS

Footing & foundations

“With more than 30 years of experience and hundreds of houses done”

Footing trenches get formed, braced and poured, and the Foundation walls rise from them. Whatever is out of level down here shows up in every wall above it, so this is the stage we slow down for.

That includes stepped concrete block walls on slopes and additions footed against an existing house. One customer wrote that we never had any problems with passing inspections.

STAGE: THE FRAME

Framing & Roofing

“more than 30 years framing and roofing, we treat your house as if it was our own”

Framing is the trade this crew grew up in. Walls go up, sheathing goes on, and Roofing follows so the house is dried in before weather finds it.

The same hands have framed ramblers, a three-storey house in Snoqualmie and a four-storey hotel in Yakima. You can see the jobs on our projects page.

STAGE: THE SKIN

Siding

“any kind of siding installation, from LP siding to Hardie”

Siding is where the house starts to look like the drawing. Housewrap and window flashing go on first, then the board, lap or board-and-batten, with trim to finish.

We hang LP siding and Hardie against stacked-stone wainscot and stone-front garages like the one in this photo.
